'Three Rare Earth Reports' by Natural Resources PC The staff of Natural Resources PC and Vasili Nicoletopoulos take pleasure in announcing the publishing of their reports on international Rare Earth Elements [REE]. The Topic REE, as the current wisdom goes, ‘are not rare at all’, but are difficult to exploit – due to dispersion, location, technology and environmental concerns. Some of the applications of REE are strategic, ie. defense, aerospace, green technology and medical equipment. The REE industry has been in the international headlines in the last five years, mostly due to falling prices from a sudden peak in 2011, changes in Chinese REE export and environmental policies, financial turmoil and yuan devaluation and the shutdown of companies like Molycorp. The Reports Our new report 'Rare Earths in the Current China Conjuncture, 2015' analyses [in addition to geology] all technical, commercial, environmental developments that occured worldwide in the last years, ie the REE prices fluctuation the WTO complaints China's resource tax regime in the rare earths industry, the country's production quotas for rare earths on a provincial and company level, China’s limiting/consolidating the number of REE companies, as well as imposing [and enforcing?] tougher environmental and health and safety standards the shutdown of Molycorp Lynas’ debt restructuring and the efforts of new candidate producers outside China The earlier report ‘REE: Light to Heavy? 2014’ covers all technical, commercial and policy developments from 2011 to 2014, as the REE situation has undergone significant changes in the last very few years. This document extends to 220 pages, and includes maps, tables, figures, photographs and appendices. Our initial report ‘Rare Earths Worldwide: An Industry and Policy Analysis, 2011’ is an authoritative document by Natural Resources PC and encompasses all technical, commercial, environmental, financial and strategic aspects of the provocative subject of REE worldwide. It also covers international developments and public policy issues in the REE industry of P.R.China, the US, Australia, the EU, Japan, the Korean Republic, India and other countries, as well as the WTO. Work was based on tedious research on over 350 references in REE. The main text of the Report extends to about 400 pages and includes 9 maps, 105 tables, 62 figures and 33 photographs. Numerous appendices offer additional recent and detailed material. About the author Mr V. Nicoletopoulos is a business consultant with his own company Natural Resources PC that specializes in mining and energy industries and policies. He is also Director of International Development and Sales, Premier Magnesia LLC, USA and member of the Board of renewables companies. Vasili has graduated from the National Technical University, Athens, and then from Stanford University, U.S.A. with a M.Sc. in Engineering - Economic Systems. After working in consulting in California, he returned to Greece for a career with Grecian Magnesite SA and also served as Vice-President of Magnesitas Navarras in Spain, Ellamag in Greece and as CEO of ERGOSE SA. He has also acted as President of Euromines, member of the Executive Committee of Eurometaux, General Secretary of the Greek Mining Enterprises Association, member of the General Council of the Association of Greek Industries, member of the board of Hellenic Petroleum and Thrace Gold Mines [Eldorado Gold Group, Canada] and of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr. Nicoletopoulos has authored three books and several booklets and articles in Greek and international journals and financial newspapers and has lectured extensively in many countries on mining, energy and public policy.
